The star of Hickory Point is what can’t be seen when turning into the gravel drive: sprawling views of Lake Oconee from the massive back deck, terraced yard, and private dock. With 19,000 acres of freshwater waiting right outside the back door, this 3-bedroom 5-bath home quietly lets its surrounding natural beauty shine while offering comfortable and spacious hospitality throughout its three floors.

The main floor hosts two bedrooms, one with a queen bed in the master suite and private bath with double sink vanity and tub/shower. Down the hall is the second bedroom with a double bed and private bath. There’s also a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer and utility sink. The center of activity and conversation is the main level living area and kitchen, connected by an open floor plan that allows abundant natural light to stream in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The kitchen is equipped with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances including refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, and a six-burner gas stovetop oven. Steps away is a circular dining table that accommodates 8 and offers uninterrupted vistas of the shoreline. A propane grill on the deck is available for use. What better scenery for grilling than a shaded lot and glistening water?

Right outside the living room door are four lake-facing Adirondack chairs that invite guests to take in the vibrant colors of an evening sunset or enjoy a cocktail underneath the stars. Take the deck steps down to the terraced yard and enjoy a leisurely walk to the private dock. Angles of all ages will appreciate the easy access to fishing, and there’s no better location to watch lake activity during warm months.

Upstairs is a loft with two queen beds, a full bath, and an entertainment area with a large flatscreen TV, oversized beanbag, armchair, and rocking chair – perfect for younger members of the family who want their own space!

Downstairs is a sports-themed entertainment area with a bar, seating area, large flatscreen TV, refrigerator/freezer, sink, and full-size bathroom. An office area can be used for multiple purposes, including luggage storage or even an extra guest room with the addition of an inflatable mattress. The walkout terrace provides private access to the yard and a short walk to the private dock.

Across the channel, Sugar Creek Marina provides a boat launch, convenience store, and some of the best breakfast biscuits, grouper sandwiches, and fried chicken in Lake Country. Within a short drive is Harmony Crossing, home to popular cafes, restaurants, and boutiques. Travel north on Highway 44 to stock up at Publix, enjoy breakfast at Café 44, or try one of the blends from PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans. We also recommend visiting the historic districts of downtown Eatonton and downtown Greensboro. Both have mom-and-pop cafes, restaurants, and retail stores that are locally owned and operated. Be sure to check area events, festivals, and farmer’s markets, too!
