It doesn’t get better than a meticulously designed luxury vacation cottage on a quiet cul-de-sac of a gated resort community. On a shaded lot dotted with magnolia trees, a welcoming front porch, and wall-to-wall views of Lake Oconee, Urban Retreat lives up to its name by offering modern convenience without compromising any of its cozy Southern charm.

This recently renovated home in Great Waters welcomes guests with an open floor plan and coveted deep-water views of Lake Oconee, Georgia’s second-largest lake that boasts 19,000 acres of freshwater therapy. The main level features a spacious kitchen with granite countertops, farmhouse sink, and stainless-steel appliances including a dishwasher, microwave, stovetop oven, and refrigerator/freezer. For java junkies, a Cuisinart drip coffee maker and a coffee grinder are available. Plenty of cookware (including two slow cookers) and serving ware will accommodate a romantic dinner in for two or a buffet for a hungry crowd. An adjacent dining table seats six, and two extra counter-height barstools welcome overflow. A wet bar quietly ensconced behind cabinets provides a delightful nook for adult beverages.

The living area is anchored by a plush sofa, oversized armchair, and a fireplace with an overhead wall-mounted flatscreen TV – perfect for game days and movie nights. A nearby reading corner is accented by two armchairs with ottomans, and both within easy viewing of another wall-mounted flatscreen TV. For larger groups, this secondary area to sit back and relax, read, or binge watch Netflix is a thoughtful addition, and it also offers unparalleled views of the Lake Oconee! For those who want some fresh air and a closer waterside view, head out the back steps and watch the sunset from the private swing in the backyard or enjoy a game of croquet from the provided set. A Big Green Egg grill is also nearby and cooks up a mean New York Strip. A short walk away is the Great Waters Marina and Waterside Village where you will find the pool, tennis courts and beach area.

Also on the main level are a powder room and a laundry room with a utility sink and a full-sized washer and dryer.

Upstairs boasts three generously sized bedrooms, each with a private bath and step-in travertine shower! The master suite is a retreat all its own, with a king bed, leather recliner, flatscreen TV with streaming options, and lakeside vistas. Its ensuite bath provides a walk-in closet, custom storage cabinets, double vanity, jetted garden tub, and step-in travertine shower. Guests will find it easy to retire here for the evening but hard to leave in the morning!  The first of two guest rooms provides sleeping for up to four with double queen beds, a flatscreen TV with streaming options, and closet storage. The private bath features a double vanity, ample cabinet storage, and a step-in shower. The third bedroom showcases a queen bed, flatscreen TV with streaming options, and a private full bath with a step-in shower.

Thoughtful design and amenities at Urban Retreat make this home-away-from-home feel like a true vacation experience. Best rental we’ve ever stayed inside Reynolds! Can tell it’s new to market and owners have thought of every little detail and need. Expansive water views from EVERY window. Steps from Clubhouse, Water, Docks (we rented a boat), Beach, playground, pool, hot tub, tennis courts, marina and more! Already booked our next stay!

Relaxing Holiday at the Urban Retreat

Our family had an exception stay at the Urban Retreat for Thanksgiving! The location is perfect for both old and young to enjoy— expansive views from inside and right outside the front and back doorstep. Beautiful walking path hugs the lake shore with numerous boat docks to sit, enjoy coffee and boat or fish from. The home has water views from every single window and every bedroom. There's even your own pool and tennis courts— steps from the pool was our kid's favorite spot, the Sandy beach with chairs to enjoy. The cottage is conveniently located at the end of a non busy street so the kids loved riding bikes/scooters at the cul de sac. When you come inside from all the outdoor activities, there's plenty of relaxing spots in the home. Two living rooms were great for the kids and adults to have their own tvs. Big kitchen with all the cooking utensils you would ever need. Massive laundry room and wash sink. All three bedrooms upstairs are large with beautiful views— each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom which was really nice. You can tell this is a new rental as the sheets, towels and everything was new and soft. Cottage was really clean and the perfect escape for our family! Lake Oconee is fun all year round and this cottage is definitely where we will be coming back to spend our lake time.

Perfect for a mental reset

We truly enjoyed the conveniences this cottage offers. The view and water access are perfect. The beds were extremely comfortable. I am a disabled veteran that suffers with back pain, and I was super comfy every time I laid down. The owners were super responsive, even had fishing rods in the cottage. The cottage was spotless. Modern upgraded thermostats that were super user friendly. The rooms were very spacious with gorgeous water views throughout each bedroom. The area was super quiet, tranquil, serene and peaceful. The home just was extremely peaceful. The owners left a peaceful spirit in the home and it was the icing on the cake. I was super stressed when I arrived but totally renewed and invigorated when I left. We plan to make this cottage our annual Veterans Day getaway for me. I can't say enough positive comments for this one. A true gem and excellent experience.

If you want an amazing get away this is the place to stay with spectacular views, lake at your back door and access to boat rentals, swimming pool and beautiful walks. Very spacious home for family gatherings, couples or girls weekends. Everything you need is here to sit back and relax. We had a great girls weekend and wish we were still there. We will be back. This rental HAS IT ALL! Prime location inside Reynolds Lake Oconee within the prestige Great Waters neighborhood. Such a private little oasis of an isle on Lake Oconee. Owner has spared nothing— all bedrooms have their own updated en suite full bath, hardwoods throughout, beautiful design and decor, main level spacious with two living rooms which have own tvs, upgraded kitchen with plenty of space to entertain, massive laundry room with own sink and tons of storage for lake/swim stuff. All Turkish linen towels and sheets, super soft. Location is everything—this is one of the only rentals inside RLO that give renters access to private HOA owned pool, tennis and Sandy beach. You can see stunnning lake views from every window in the home. 100 steps to the lake and several docks which can be used for boat rental or fishing. Walking distance to Great Waters clubhouse and Pub. We will be back again soon! Best place we've ever stayed inside Reynolds or on Lake Oconee period!
